I play FTB Monster quite a bit, but I also like the metallurgy mod thats in Horizons...so i decided to bring it in to monster. one of the things I like to do a lot is create a massive power supply for running armies of MFR Laser drills, but they only pick up a few specific mod ores...and none of the metallurgy ores. so...I added them in with minetweaker

the chances of getting these ores are lowish, but not low enough to match the natural chances of getting the ores. id suggest playing with that a bit to make them not so easy to get, particularly the end ores and some of the fantasy metals
